The AU DOJO karate school in LaSalle is affiliated with Karaté Québec, a member of Karate Canada and the World Karate Federation (WKF) which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Karaté Québec is the only Quebec karate association recognized by the Ministère de l'éducation, du loisir et du sport of the Government of Quebec as well as by Sports-Québec. It is also the only Quebec organization that is a member of Karate Canada, which is, in turn, a member of the World Karate Federation (WKF). The World Karate Federation, or WKF in English, is the main governing body of karate in the world and the only one recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Karaté Québec is also the only Quebec organization that is a member of Karate Canada. It has been a member since 1995. In March 1999, Karaté Québec was officially recognized, as a member of Karate Canada, by the World Karate Federation ( WKF ) and the International Olympic Committee ( IOC ).
Only athletes who are members of Karate Quebec can participate in competitions and tournaments on the official circuit at the national and international level, which can lead to the Pan American Games, the World Games ( IOC ), the World University Championship ( FISU ) and the World Championship ( FMK ).

​Karaté Québec is the official governing body for the discipline of karate in Quebec. This gives it many responsibilities and also allows it to offer many advantages to its members, including
Athletes have access to an official provincial, national and international network of competitions;
Some athletes may be eligible for grants;
Members have access to sport-study programs recognized by the Ministry of Education;
NCCP official coaching certificates are offered only by Karaté Québec;
Referees can be certified at the national and international level by taking the appropriate courses;
Black belt members can access the style and rank recognition program at the national and international level;
Karatekas can participate in seminars given by high caliber coaches
Coaches, athletes, referees and karatekas can all progress through the various programs offered by Karaté Québec.
